My Background

I grew up in Zimbabwe, Africa, and no my parents were not missionaries! There were a lot of white colonists living in Africa. I moved to the U.S.A. in 1983 to attend the University of Sioux Falls. I am married to Jeff and have one son, Benjamin who is a sophomore in college this year.

My Education and Teaching Experience

I graduated from a Teacher's College in Zimbabwe and taught there for several years before coming to the United States. I attended University of Sioux Falls to get my credentials for teaching in South Dakota.  In 2005 I earned my Masters in Leadership degree from USF.

I substitute taught in several schools before Ben went to school full time. Then I taught for 10 years at St. Mary Grade School and in 2006 I came to DRES. I also worked as the K-12 Curriculum Director at St. Mary's for 4 years. I have enjoyed teaching students from K-8 over the years. I am looking forward to teaching 1st grade again this year.
